The purpose of this department is to help students to develop an understanding of the modern approaches to mental health, identification, prevention and nursing management of common mental health problems with special emphasis on therapeutic interventions for individuals, family and community. The course on Mental Health Nursing is placed in the IIIrd year of BSc Nursing and students are given clinical training in Government Mental Health Centre.
